Thomas A. Selvaggi, M.D., F.A.A.A.A.I.
Dr. Selvaggi is a board certified allergist who practices all aspects of allergy/immunology. In addition to his private practice in Hackensack, New Jersey, he is Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine in the newly formed Touro University College of Medicine in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/New Jersey Medical School. He also serves as the Medical Director of the Special Diagnostic Immunology Laboratory at Hackensack University Medical Center, ranked by Health Grades as one of the top 50 hospitals in the United States. He is honored to have privileges at Hackensack University Medical Center and opened his private office to more conveniently serve the needs of his patients in 2004.
Dr. Selvaggi has been a practicing allergist in Hackensack since coming from the National Institutes of Health in 1997. He spent four years in the United States Public Health service studying patients with antibody deficiency immune disorders during his fellowship at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the NIH. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the Pittsburgh Veteran's Administration Hospital. He completed his medical degree at the Medical College of Pennsylvania after receiving his undergraduate degree in microbiology with a second degree in Italian studies from the University of Notre Dame.
The American Board of Allergy & Immunology conferred board certification in 1995 and recertification in 2005. He received an added qualification for Clinical and Laboratory Immunology in 2003.
Sue Bouliga, RN
Ms. Bouliga has at least 14 years of allergy experience in Northern New Jersey and has been working with Dr. Selvaggi since his arrival in Hackensack in 1997. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at Rutgers College of Nursing in Newark. She is a master of allergy immunotherapy. The healing rapport she has with her patients is an invaluable component in the accomplishing safe and effective allergy immunotherapy.
